Skr8tr is invented, built, and maintained by a single engineer who owns the full stack — from the C23 mesh protocol to the HTTP/2 ingress to the PQC signing infrastructure. No outsourced components. No black boxes. Complete accountability.
Scott is a systems engineer whose career spans web hosting infrastructure, enterprise IT, information security, data engineering, and sovereign compute. His relationship with computing started in the 1980s on a Mac SE/30 with HyperCard at Haverford Preparatory School — that instinct for building interactive systems has driven every project since.
His web infrastructure career began in 2012 at Endurance International Group (now Newfold Digital) — Linux servers, VPS environments, and high-traffic web hosting for 120+ client accounts. He advanced to Level 3 Linux support, managing WordPress architecture, security hardening, and VPS configuration at scale. That foundation gives him a grounded, practical understanding of what web teams actually need from production infrastructure.
When Kubernetes became the de facto standard, he watched web development teams spend enormous overhead fighting a platform designed for hyperscale Google infrastructure — not for the team of five shipping a SaaS product. Skr8tr is his answer to that problem: a sovereign orchestrator purpose-built for web developers. 5 MB control plane. No Docker. No YAML. No container runtime. ML-DSA-65 post-quantum auth on every command.
Since late 2022, long-term disability has ended his ability to work onsite. He has used that time for something most engineers never get: uninterrupted, full-time technical immersion. Mastering C23, Rust, post-quantum cryptography (NIST FIPS 203/204), distributed systems, HTTP/2 ingress, cgroups v2 resource enforcement, and production orchestration from first principles.
He holds an AWS Certified Solutions Architect and a Databricks Certified Developer for Apache Spark (Scala track). He also operates a private sovereign AI platform for law firms at rusticagentic.agency and a data engineering practice at duckdatamaster.guru.
Skr8tr's control plane, mesh protocol, and worker nodes are written in C23. No GC, no runtime, no VM. Fork + exec in milliseconds. The entire orchestration stack is under 5 MB — three binaries.
The Skr8tr operator CLI is built in Rust — post-quantum signing key management, manifest submission, fleet status, log retrieval, rolling deploys. One binary, no dependencies.
ML-DSA-65 (CRYSTALS-Dilithium Level 3 — NIST FIPS 204) signs every mutating command. Your signing key never touches the wire. Replay protection built in. Quantum-safe from day one, not from a future patch.
Full HTTP/2 with ALPN negotiation — multiplexed streams, header compression, gRPC proxying. Native TLS termination with automatic Let's Encrypt certificate management. Longest-prefix route matching. No nginx. No Envoy config.
Masterless — no etcd, no Raft, no leader election. Every node is a sovereign peer. The Conductor coordinates lightweight heartbeats. Add a node by running the daemon. The mesh survives loss of any peer.
SHA-256 chained audit ledger, AES-256-GCM at-rest encryption, RFC 5424 SIEM syslog export. RBAC namespace isolation. SSO / OIDC identity bridge. Compliance posture built into the platform — not retrofitted.
Career began in web hosting — Level 3 Linux support at Endurance International (now Newfold Digital). VPS administration, WordPress security, high-traffic Linux servers at scale. This is where the "built for web developers" perspective comes from.
AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate). Production deployments across AWS, Azure, and GCP — sole-tenant compute, managed secrets, encrypted storage, private networking. Skr8tr deploys on GCP infrastructure you own and control.
Databricks Certified Developer (Scala). Separate data engineering practice at duckdatamaster.guru — DuckDB single-node analytics replacing expensive Databricks/Snowflake stacks. 172M rows/second on a single workstation.
Inventor of RusticAgentic — private, air-gapped document intelligence for law firms. Post-quantum vault encryption, ML-DSA-65 signed audit trails, zero data egress. The same principles of sovereignty and security that define Skr8tr.
